It started with a vision — a chemical-free swimming pool surrounded by native plants, fed entirely by rainwater, right in the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside.
Jon spent two years transforming that vision into reality. Digging by hand at first, researching biological filtration systems, sourcing over 1,500 aquatic plants, and learning from Europe's leading natural pool builders along the way.
What emerged was more than a pool — it was a living ecosystem. A 45ft × 30ft natural swimming pool that cleans itself, supports wildlife, and provides a stunning focal point year-round.
Jon documented the entire journey online, building a community of over 200,000 followers who shared his passion for natural swimming. His project was featured in the Daily Mail, inspiring homeowners across the UK to consider an alternative to chlorinated pools.
Why Lume Was Founded
